DarkOrbit is a MMO (massively multiplayer online) browser-based game, in which you travel across different 2d space maps, trade, combat, and mine raw resources.
This game is based on flash technology, but surprisingly fast.
In DarkOrbit you gain experience points by fighting and collecting raw resources, new experience increases your level and lets you explore more space sectors.
As you see, this action based game has also some RPG elements.
There are two main currencies in the game: Credits and Uridium, the last is a scarce resource. You can find Uridium in small numbers in the game, but only with this resource you can get the best items. If you are in a strong need of Uridium, you can always buy it.
When you start, you select a company to work for. Choose it wisely. There are three companies available in the game right now:
EIC
MMO
VRU
All three companies are fighting against each other to gain more score points.
The map backgrounds in DarkOrbit are simply amazing, so beautiful they are.
